Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Study of the Distribution Component of the Power Sector Recovery Project

Narrative Description of Project: Log Associates carried out an Assessment of potential environmental (socio-economic, cultural heritage and biophysical) impacts of the Distribution Component of the Power Sector Recovery Project including evaluation of alternatives and design of appropriate mitigation, management and monitoring measures

Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff: The key project tasks included public consultations and assessment of all project intervention zones pertaining to the distribution components including all new substation sites and new line routes. Sampled pole mounted transformer stations in Nairobi and the Coastal area were assessed. The assessment conformed to the Kenyan environmental assessment regulations as administered by the National Environmental Management Authorities (NEMA).
