Name of Client: Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited, KenGen

Narrative Description of Project: Log Associates conducted an ESIA study and developed a Decommissioning Plan for this project. The main objective of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment study was to identify significant environmental and social impacts associated with the proposed project and recommend appropriate mitigation measures for integration in all phases of the projects cycle. The aim of the Decommissioning Plan was to provide a framework for the decommissioning activity of various plant components during rehabilitation works.

Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff: We collaborated with Power Engineers Inc of USA to carry out assessment and description of environmental baseline conditions. We assessed the impacts on the environment due to the construction of the substation and related infrastructure and identified cost-effective miti

gation measures for the impacts. We prepared an ESMP detailing the necessary actions for implementing the measures for environmental protection.
