Narrative Description of Project: The main objective of the annual audit was to appraise all activities undertaken by the Pyrethrum Board of Kenya by assessing their status of compliance with environmental rules and regulations
Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff: Tasks performed included assessment of implementation of previous audit recommendations in particular environmental regulatory framework, environmental health and safety measures including personal protective equipment (PPE); assessment of effects of dust and flu gases (tests of air emission samples from the boilers was carried out in NEMA’s accredited laboratories) and development of a comprehensive environmental management plan. The exercise was carried out as per NEMA regulation as stipulated in the Environmental Management & Coordination Act (EMCA).
