Narrative Description of Project: The main objective of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment study was to identify significant environmental and social impacts associated with the proposed project and recommend appropriate mitigation measures for integration during all phases of project implementation. The objective of the Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) was to provide a plan for resettlement and rehabilitation of the Project Affected Persons (PAPs) so that their losses would be adequately compensated and their standard of living improved or at least restored to the pre- project status.

Description of Actual Services Provided by Our Staff: We carried out the assessment an identification of potential impacts of te proposed project on the environment. The scope of the project was to identify all potential significant adverse environmental and social impacts and recommend mitigation measures. Other roles were to generate baseline data for monitoring and evaluation of the responsiveness of the mitigation measures and preparing an Environmental Impact Assessment report compliant with the EMCA 1999. We also identified PAPs who would require assistance, compensation rehabilitation or relocation.
