Pre-feasibility Studies, Feasibility Studies and Detail Design of multiple Land Husbandry, Water Harvesting and Hillside Irrigation sites in different parts of Rwanda (Lot1)

Name of Client: Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI) and Land Husbandry, Rwanda

Narrative Description of Project: The study covered 3,500Ha of lower hillside irrigation area in Muyanza Province of Rwanda. Consultant conducted detailed soil suitability tests across the project area and developed GIS-based soil maps for the target area. Detailed land husbandry assessment was conducted and soil containment systems designed based on measured slope and soil types. These systems integrated both engineering structures and vegetation propagation across the slopes. Detailed agronomic assessment was also carried out and the crop water requirement using the FAO CROPWAT model. An Economic and Financial Analysis (EFA) was done based on several scenarios of crop combinations. Sensitivity analysis was carried out for each scenario.
